The Chairman of the University Grants Commission Prof. Sampath Amaratunga said that the health authorities have been requested to provide Covid vaccination to the 25,000 students studying in the fourth year in the state universities.
Accordingly, after the vaccination of the final year students, we are planning to start their academic activities in the universities and then gradually vaccinate the third, second and first year students and start their academic activities.
Currently, all the university lecturers above age of 30 and all the medical students above third year, in 11 medical faculties who are participating in clinical studies in hospitals have been vaccinated.
