இந்தியா, இங்கிலாந்து, தென் ஆப்பிரிக்கா, பிரேசில் என பல நாடுகளில் தற்போது உருமாறிய வைரஸ் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்தியாவில் முதலில் கண்டறியப்பட்ட ‘பி.1.617.1’ வைரசுக்கு காப்பா என்றும், ‘பி.1.617.2’ வைரசுக்கு டெல்டா என்றும் பெயர் சூட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இங்கிலாந்தில் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ள ‘பி.1.1.7’ உருமாறிய வைரஸ் ஆல்பா, தென் ஆப்பிரிக்காவில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ‘பீ.1.351’ வைரஸ் பீட்டா, பிரேசில் நாட்டில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ‘பி.1’ வைரஸ் கமா, ‘பி.2 ’வைரஸ் ஜீட்டா என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
அமெரிக்காவில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள வைரஸ் எப்சிலான், அயோட்டா என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
இந்த உருமாறிய வைரஸ்கள் பற்றிய வாராந்திர தொற்றுநோயியல் அறிக்கையை உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பு வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. அதில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ள முக்கிய தகவல்கள் வருமாறு:-
* இங்கிலாந்தில் கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ள ‘பி.1.1.7’ உருமாறிய வைரஸ் ஆல்பா, 170 நாடுகளுக்கு பரவி உள்ளது.
* தென் ஆப்பிரிக்காவில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ‘பீ.1.351’ வைரஸ் பீட்டா, 119 நாடுகளுக்கு சென்று விட்டது.
* பிரேசில் நாட்டில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ‘பி.1’ வைரஸ் கமா, 71 நாடுகளில் தாக்கி உள்ளது.
* இந்தியாவில் முதலில் கண்டறியப்பட்ட ‘பி.1.617.2’ வைரசான டெல்டா, 85 நாடுகளில் தன் கைவரிசையை காட்டி உள்ளது. இவற்றில் 11 நாடுகளில் 2 வாரங்களில் பரவி இருக்கிறது.
* கவலைக்குரிய உருமாறிய வைரஸ்களான ஆல்பா, பீட்டா, கமா, டெல்டா ஆகிய 4 வைரஸ்களும் தீவிரமாக கண்காணிக்கப்படுகின்றன.
* ஆல்பா வைரசைக்காட்டிலும் டெல்டா வைரஸ் கணிசமாக பரவக்கூடியதாகும். இதை ஜப்பான் ஆய்வு காட்டுகிறது. இதே போக்கு தொடர்ந்தால் இந்த வைரஸ் ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்தும் கொரோனாவாக இருக்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
* சிங்கப்பூரில் நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒரு ஆய்வில் டெல்டா வைரஸ் தொற்று அதிகளவு ஆக்சிஜன் தேவை, தீவிர சிகிச்சைப் பிரிவு சேர்க்கை அல்லது இறப்பு ஆகியவற்றுடன் தொடர்புடையது என காட்டுகிறது.
* டெல்டா வைரசுக்கு எதிராக பைசர் பயோஎன்டெக் தடுப்பூசியும், அஸ்ட்ரா ஜெனகோ தடுப்பூசியும் வலுவாக செயல்படும் என்று ஆய்வு முடிவுகள் காட்டுகின்றன.

The World Health Organization has published a weekly epidemiological report on these mutated viruses. The important information contained in it is as follows: –
* Alpha, a mutated virus found in the UK, has spread to 170 countries.
* The beta ‘B.1,351’ virus, found in South Africa, has gone to 119 countries.
* The ‘B1’ virus gamma, found in Brazil, has struck 71 countries.
* Delta, the first B1.617.2 virus to be detected in India, has made its mark in 85 countries. Of these, it has spread to 11 countries in 2 weeks.
* All 4 viruses of concern, mutated viruses such as alpha, beta, comma, and delta, are being actively monitored.
* Delta virus is significantly more contagious than alpha virus. A study by Japan shows this. The virus is expected to dominate the corona if the same trend continues.
* A study conducted in Singapore shows that delta virus infection is associated with high oxygen requirement, intensive care unit admission or death.
* Study results show that the Pfizer Bioentech vaccine and the AstraZeno vaccine are potent against the delta virus.
